Funny Canoeing – The Whole Beach Starts Laughing

Canoeing like you've never seen before. Even the swimmer in the water is cracking up. :o ) Some good one liners too: Brian bending his knees in the canoe: "I look like a cork in a bottle, Pete. This is ridiculous" and my favourite one... Brian rocking the canoe like mad: "I'm trying to keep my balance" (ha ha, 'keep my balance'. It looks like you're trying to create a tsunami of your own with all that shaking you're doing, Brian. hahaha) *Note*: This clip is from 'A Place in Greece: Year 2'. Please leave a comment/rating if you like it to show Tiger Aspect (the production company) that we want a Series 3! Thank you please. :) You can also join the discussion at: www.digitalspy.co.uk

boring

#3 michiganriverman on 02.07.09 at 9:36 am

That’s a kayak, not a canoe. I guess idiots don’t know the difference.

#4 MoytoyMovies on 04.06.09 at 3:35 pm

Thats not a slalom boat either. That’s a lake boat – made way too long and of glossy plastic and a little unstable.

People in the UK tend to call kayaks canoes because canoeing is not such a big sport as it is in the Americas – hey its their language after all….

Poor man… I know he looks kind of funny but I wouldn’t laugh at him!

#6 jix177 on 05.30.09 at 11:33 am

Things could have gotten very unpleasant if he had capsized, considering how hard it was for him to get in and out of the boat, and the distance between him and his friends. Personally I found that more nerve wracking than funny.

…in England, it’s called a canoe. Given that they’re from there, I think they’re ok to use the term.

…Surely, only an idiot would expect the ENTIRE WORLD to use only americanized terms….

….oh. Michigan River Man….. right then, never mind…

No proper instruction, wrong sized canoe, no PFD – a recipe for disaster!!

#9 efletch91 on 07.04.09 at 2:57 pm

Actually you’re the idiot. Kayaks are called canoes in other countries. Look it up.

#10 RoseNinna on 08.22.09 at 3:41 pm

I guess idiots don’t consider that in many other parts of the world this IS called a canoe.

Wherever you are on this planet…kayak is kayak, and canoe is canoe. It depends how much you know about those things…and this is basic knowledge. Difference is: kayak – double sided paddle; canoe – single sided. Also, a hull and sitting position is little different. Please people, stay normal…this is the place of information exchange.

Which one has the outboard motor? Canoe or kayak? How many sails does an aircraft carrier have? Why are my fingers throbbing and changing shape?

#13 t8v0h0 on 11.18.09 at 10:00 pm

Not quite-some solo canoeists use double sided paddles :-) The Bending Branches Impression solo is a good example of a double sided solo canoe paddle.

#14 zasvedogovore on 11.18.09 at 11:12 pm

Some people get confused single sided paddle. :) I checked your link, and it is definitely kayak paddle for people with rowing problems…hehe…Have fun

#18 corkkayaker on 04.28.10 at 10:49 am

its called a KAYAK not a canoe~!!!

#19 lazyd0g on 04.29.10 at 4:34 am

@TechnoEngineer So what do you call a canoe, a lobster?

#20 stewartx5 on 06.19.10 at 7:26 am

@sixhats > ‘.. England .. from there .. americanized terms ..’

The kayak was invented by the Inuit hunters of Greenland many, many, centuries ago, with similar small boats used by the Ainu, Aleut and Eskimo hunters in northeastern Asia and North America. The name was provided by the Eskimo. In other words, kayaks did not come from England and the name is not an Americanized term.

its a kayak and he has really horrible balance all you have to do is sit there you dont have to lean or shake at all what was with all his shaking? i would hate to see him ride a bike with the balance he has, i mean how does he even walk?

#22 alexisrockin9087 on 06.29.10 at 7:46 am

lol he couldn’t get his balance it isn’t hard at all he just needed to relax when u get the hang of it the kayak becomes 1 with your body. some people say that kayaks aren’t as stable as canoes but in my opinion they r nice and low in the water unlioke canoes which are higher

#23 sjtom57 on 09.12.10 at 7:49 pm

Too long a vid for zero payoff. Thumbs down.

#24 tenodogblu on 09.28.10 at 11:26 am

this was a really entertaining series, wonder whqat they are up to now? anyone know?/ Thx

#25 shiiit08 on 10.30.10 at 3:43 pm

It is not funy, It ‘s scary to watch him shaking on the Kayak. If the Kayak capsizes than he is in big trouble.
